The Full Story
The Police Officer was originally developed as a thank-you gift for a local precinct that helped track down a delivery van full of Bushface inventory that went briefly, mysteriously missing in transit in 2011. Nobody at the company still remembers the full details of the case, only that it was resolved within a week and that somebody thought a duck in uniform was the appropriate way to say thanks.
The precinct, as it turned out, loved it, and word spread. Within a year, a version of this duck had shipped to departments in eleven states as a goodwill gesture, well before it was ever officially added to the catalog. Product development mostly just formalized what was already happening.
The badge detailing has gone through several print runs to get the reflective finish right. Early versions used an actual small mirror, which was discontinued after several customers reported using it, unsuccessfully, to signal for help in minor emergencies.

The belt and badge are really crisp for the size. Looks great on a shelf.
Stays on fine for display, but if you shake the box around it can slide sideways a bit. Not really a problem in practice.
Nice duck, just wish there were a sheriff or state trooper version to go with it for a set.
We keep this on the front desk at our precinct. Visitors comment on it more than anything else in the lobby.
Otherwise a nice duck, but the silver badge paint scuffed after just a bit of handling. Wish it held up better.
